“Interactive Map Reveals Impact of Pizza Hut Closures in UK”

Must read

An interactive map has unveiled the extensive impact of Pizza Hut closures on UK high streets, with one area facing the loss of seven out of its nine restaurants. Following a downturn in fortunes, administrators have disclosed the locations of 68 Pizza Hut restaurants set to shut down. This move, part of a restructuring effort, will result in the closure of 11 delivery sites, putting 1,210 employees at risk of redundancy. Consequently, only 64 Pizza Hut restaurants will remain operational in the UK.

The Greater Manchester region emerges as one of the most affected areas, with seven out of nine Pizza Hut restaurants slated for closure, leaving only outlets at the Trafford Centre and in Manchester city centre. Similarly, in Greater London, nine Pizza Huts in outer boroughs will close, leaving just three in central London and one at the Bluewater shopping center.

Fortunately, the closure program spares the East Midlands, with Pizza Hut restaurants in Lincoln, Nottingham, Mansfield, Thurmaston, and Leicester maintaining their operations. DC London Pie, the entity managing Pizza Hut’s UK dine-in restaurants under a franchise agreement, appointed administrators from corporate finance firm FTI. Yum! Brands, the American hospitality giant owning the global Pizza Hut business, has acquired the UK restaurant operation through a pre-pack administration deal, safeguarding 64 sites.

In a previous rescue effort in January 2025, Directional Capital took over 139 Pizza Hut restaurants, saving 3,000 jobs after the collapse of the former operator Heart with Smart Limited. DC London Pie, established by Directional Capital, oversees Pizza Hut restaurants in the UK. Since its inception in 1973 in Islington, London, Pizza Hut has operated over 260 restaurants nationwide with 10,000 employees at its peak.

Pizza Hut intends to maintain its presence in the UK through a combination of company-owned and franchise restaurants. Currently, 351 delivery Huts are operational across the UK, Northern Ireland, and Ireland, in addition to the 64 dine-in sites acquired in the latest deal.
