A 15-year-old girl from Utah tragically lost her life after being shot in the head at close range by her 16-year-old boyfriend. Chanelle Alvarez was found deceased in her bedroom by a family member who heard the gunshot and saw the boyfriend, Hezekiah Plummer, fleeing with a firearm. Plummer mentioned a robbery and claimed someone tried to rob them before his arrest in a neighboring county, where he was found with cash and marijuana.
Plummer has been charged with first-degree murder, obstruction of justice, and theft of a firearm and will face trial as an adult. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist Alvarez’s family with funeral expenses, describing her as a vibrant young woman with a beautiful spirit. The family emphasized that Chanelle’s death resulted from domestic violence, a situation they hope will raise awareness and protection for others.
Chanelle was an active member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Ogden, known for her caring nature and zest for life. The church’s pastor praised her as a compassionate and curious individual who brought joy to those around her.
