“Ex-Premier League Goalkeeper Knocked Out in Charity Boxing Match”

Must read

Ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny required oxygen assistance after being knocked out by Curtis Davies during a charity boxing match. The intense bout saw Davies dominating Kenny right from the start, leading to a standing eight-count enforced by referee Wayne Alexander due to Davies’ powerful punches. Despite Kenny’s valiant effort to continue, he eventually fell to the ground after a massive blow from Davies. Kenny, known for his extensive football career with over 700 appearances, struggled to get back on his feet before the fight was halted by the referee, resulting in Kenny needing oxygen post-match while Davies celebrated his victory.

Reflecting on his win, Davies, aged 40 and with more than 650 club appearances, shared his strategy of utilizing his height advantage and speed against Kenny, acknowledging the impact of his initial right-hand punch. Davies expressed mixed emotions about defeating Kenny, emphasizing the competitive nature of the event despite its charitable purpose. He then called out YouTube personality turned boxer Jake Paul and the Misfits group for potential future matches.

The charity event, organized by Stake for the benefit of four charities, aimed to raise £500,000 for Playskill, Sport In Mind, Willow Foundation, and Helping Hands. In other matchups during the event, ex-Reading striker Leroy Lita emerged victorious against David Noble, while former Tottenham midfielder David Bentley was defeated by Chelsea coach Jody Morris.

Additionally, Sky has announced a discounted price for its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, offering savings of £192 and access to over 1,400 live matches covering the Premier League, EFL, and more. Sky is set to broadcast a minimum of 215 live Premier League games in the upcoming season, an increase of up to 100 matches compared to previous seasons.
