Subsequently, at 3:15 p.m., an F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter from the “Fighting Redcocks” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 22 also crashed in the same area during routine operations from the USS Nimitz. Both crew members ejected safely and were recovered by search and rescue units from Carrier Strike Group 11.

All personnel involved in the incidents are safe and in stable condition. Investigations are ongoing to determine the causes of the crashes.
