Hyperoptic has joined the ranks of broadband providers implementing a significant mid-contract price increase. Customers of the internet service provider will experience a £4 monthly bill hike starting April 2026, up from the previous rise of £3 per month.
This price adjustment applies to both new and existing customers across all Hyperoptic broadband plans. Despite prior claims against annual price hikes, Hyperoptic now aligns with other major telecom companies that have recently announced larger increases.
In 2023, policy director James Fredrikson emphasized Hyperoptic’s stance on avoiding mid-contract price rises, stating that the advertised price should remain consistent throughout the contract duration.
Sky Mobile has revealed a £1.50 per month increase for the majority of its customers effective February 14, 2026, marking the first price adjustment for in-contract customers in over seven years. O2 has announced a £2.50 monthly rise for nearly all mobile and SIM-only contract subscribers starting April 2026, surpassing the initial planned increase of £1.80 per month.
Three mobile customers opting for data plans of 4GB or less will face a £1.80 monthly price surge from April 2026, an 80p increment from the current £1 raise. Subscribers with data plans ranging from 4GB to 100GB will witness a £1.90 monthly increase, while those with over 100GB will experience a £2.30 rise monthly.
Additionally, Three broadband bills will surge by £3.50 per month, while Vodafone mobile customers engaging in new deals from November 12 will encounter a £2.50 monthly increase, or a £1.50 rise for Basics SIM plans. Vodafone broadband users will also confront a £3.50 monthly price hike.
If you are not under contract, it is advisable to compare prices online to potentially save on your mobile and broadband expenses. Assess your current usage to ensure you are not paying for unused allowances, and consider switching providers or negotiating with your current one for a better deal. Moreover, individuals receiving benefits should check for eligibility for discounted social tariffs.
