A 62-year-old woman who works as a beauty instructor was taken into custody for allegedly stabbing her younger boyfriend and hiding his body in her backyard. The victim, identified as Alex Sandro da Silva Rocha, 21, was found in Bebedouro, Sao Paulo, Brazil, after being fatally stabbed in the chest with scissors, as reported by the local police. Jussara Luzia Fernandes has confessed to the murder, following the recent death of her husband in January. Authorities have reopened the investigation into her spouse’s accidental death earlier this year.
During a search of her residence, law enforcement officers discovered a freshly dug hole in the garden, near the house, prompting further scrutiny. Despite initially claiming that the hole was for her deceased dog, a distressing revelation was made when the Fire Department unearthed the victim’s body. Fernandes later admitted to an altercation with her boyfriend that led her to grab scissors in self-defense and ultimately stab him multiple times. Allegedly, she even hired someone to bury him in the backyard.
Detective Joao Vitor Silverio revealed that Fernandes involved her son in moving the body outside the house. She is currently detained and facing charges of homicide and concealing a corpse. The victim’s mother, Ivonete Ribeiro da Silva, has described her son’s relationship with Fernandes as abusive, stating that he was trying to break free from her control. Da Silva recounted instances of control and aggression by Fernandes towards her son, expressing hope for justice to prevail.
Detailing further, the victim’s mother accused Fernandes of orchestrating her son’s death by incapacitating him, emphasizing that there was no legitimate self-defense situation. She also mentioned an incident where Fernandes allegedly ran over her son’s foot with a car during a heated argument. Da Silva highlighted her son’s intentions to end the relationship due to the controlling nature of his girlfriend.
