“Beauty Brand Malin + Goetz Enters Administration, UK Stores Close”

Must read

Malin + Goetz, a popular beauty brand, has entered administration, leading to the closure of all its seven stores in the UK. The affected locations include Seven Dials, Soho, Spitalfields, Islington, Canary Wharf, Battersea Power Station, and Borough Yards, impacting over 70 jobs.

Online orders from Malin + Goetz have been temporarily halted, with a notice on their website informing customers of the situation and assuring them of a prompt return to service. However, shoppers can still purchase their products through third-party retailers like Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.

In a statement to TheIndustry.beauty, a spokesperson for Malin + Goetz explained that after a thorough business review and exploring all options, the decision was made to place the UK operations into administration, necessitating the closure of stores and the head office. The company acknowledges the unfortunate impact on employees and customers, emphasizing the unavoidable job losses.

Although the website is expected to resume operations after a brief maintenance period, the exact duration remains uncertain. Malin + Goetz, founded in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, initially offered six skincare products catering to all skin types but has since expanded into fragrance, body care, and other beauty segments.
