“Husband Pushes Pregnant Wife off Cliff for Insurance Payout”

Must read

A man, Hakan Aysal, has been imprisoned for pushing his pregnant wife off a cliff shortly after taking a selfie with her. The tragic incident occurred at Butterfly Valley in Mugla, Turkey. The victim, Semra Aysal, who was seven months pregnant, lost her life due to her husband’s actions in an attempt to benefit from a life insurance policy he had recently obtained.

The court learned that Aysal deceitfully convinced his wife, who had a fear of heights, to pose for a selfie at the cliff’s edge before callously pushing her off. The couple had spent hours together on the slope before the fatal push, which occurred when there were no witnesses around.

After the incident, Aysal audaciously tried to claim a £40,000 insurance payout from a policy he had taken out shortly before Semra’s death. However, suspicions arose, leading to police intervention when Aysal sought the insurance money just days after his wife’s tragic demise.

Bank records revealed that Aysal had taken out multiple loans in his wife’s name and proceeded to live a lavish lifestyle after her passing. An indictment for “premeditated murder” against Aysal was accepted by the court in 2022, with the defendant facing a minimum of 30 years in prison before parole eligibility.

During the trial, witnesses described Aysal as calm and carefree, even after flagging down help following his wife’s fall. Despite being incarcerated, Aysal attempted to sue 200 individuals in 2022 for alleged online insults directed at him, seeking financial compensation for each instance of defamation.

Aysal is currently serving a life sentence, with the possibility of parole after 30 years. Reports emerged that he was already planning for his release by pursuing legal actions against his critics to secure financial gains.
