Rapper Ghetts Faces Charges in Fatal Hit-and-Run

Rapper and Netflix personality Ghetts faces charges in connection with a deadly hit-and-run incident that occurred in London on October 18, as reported by the Metropolitan Police.

The artist, known as Justin Clarke-Samuel, allegedly struck a man with his vehicle on Redbridge Lane East in Ilford and failed to stop at the scene. Tragically, the 20-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Clarke-Samuel, 41, made an appearance at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Monday and has been detained in custody. He is scheduled to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on October 27. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the accident to come forward.

With a substantial following on Spotify, collaborating with prominent artists like Skepta, Stormzy, and Ed Sheeran, Clarke-Samuel also showcased his talent at Glastonbury in 2024.

In 2008, he received a nomination for a BET Award for Best International Act: UK alongside Chipmunk, Giggs, and Skepta. His music has garnered attention on major platforms like BBC Radio 1.

Having clinched the Best Male Act at the 2021 Mobo Awards and later honored with the Mobo Pioneer Award in 2024 for his impact on British black culture, Clarke-Samuel’s contributions to the entertainment industry are widely recognized.

Aside from his music career, the Mobo winner is recognized for his role as the villain Crazy in Netflix’s Supacell, portraying a character deeply entangled in a world of violent crime post-prison release.

His acting credits extend to the 2018 crime thriller The Intent2, depicting a narrative of loyalty to his crew conflicting with ambitions to break free from a ruthless crime syndicate leader.
