Must read

Apple marks a significant milestone today, reaching its 50th anniversary. The renowned tech company was established on April 1, 1976, by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in Los Altos, California, utilizing Jobs’ parents’ residence and garage to introduce their first product, the Apple 1.

The inception of the personal PC, the Apple 1, led to unforeseen success for the brand, propelling Apple to become one of the world’s largest corporations. Initially focused on computers, Apple has diversified its offerings over time, introducing iconic products such as the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

The Verge recently surveyed its audience to determine Apple’s greatest hits, yielding unexpected results. Topping the list is the original iPhone, launched in 2007, which has become Apple’s flagship product, revolutionizing communication, entertainment, payments, and photography through its integrated features.

Ranked second is the iconic iPod, which revolutionized music consumption in 2001 by offering “1,000 songs in your pocket,” replacing bulky tape and CD players. Apple discontinued the iPod range in May 2022.

Contrary to expectations, Apple’s M1 chip secures third place, transforming how users interact with Apple’s PCs by enhancing performance and efficiency significantly.

The Verge is currently accepting votes for Apple’s top devices, with rankings evolving constantly. As of now, the top 20 devices include the Original iPhone, Original iPod, M1 chip, Original Macintosh, Mac OS X, and others. Do you concur with these rankings?
