Renowned judge of Strictly Come Dancing, Craig Revel Horwood, has taken on a new role that involves exploring the idiosyncratic habits Brits have regarding their homes. A recent study revealed that a majority of Britons are particular about various aspects of their living spaces, such as how towels are folded, the use of lighting, and attachment to specific furniture pieces.
The research, conducted among 2,000 adults, highlighted that 80% of respondents admitted to having specific preferences when it comes to tidiness, decorative choices, and personal touches within their homes. Rules like no feet on sofas, maintaining cutlery organization, and ensuring beds are always made were among the top priorities for many participants.
Sofology, an interior brand, commissioned the study and appointed Craig Revel Horwood as their ‘Head of Fusstomer Experience.’ The Strictly Come Dancing judge expressed enthusiasm for this new role, emphasizing his penchant for high standards and his eagerness to champion meticulous household practices.
In his new position, Craig stated, “I am loving my role as head of fusstomer experience, darling. It is brilliant – I’ve never been the head of anything before, but now I feel very, very important. Everyone knows I’m not afraid to speak my mind, my standards are sky-high, and I expect nothing less than fabulous. So really, I was the ONLY person for the job.”
The survey also revealed that 82% of individuals believe it is acceptable to be particular about their home aesthetics, with 60% stating they have unique home management styles that they wouldn’t change for anything in the world.
Partners were identified as the primary culprits for breaking household rules, leading to frustration and dissatisfaction among homeowners. Despite this, a quarter of respondents choose to remain silent when their rules are disregarded.
The meticulous nature of individuals extends beyond daily annoyances to preparations for guests, with participants spending an average of 44 minutes readying their homes for visitors. For many, ensuring everything is done correctly contributes to a sense of ease within their living space.
A spokesperson from Sofology highlighted, “We celebrate the art of choosing well, starting with understanding our fusstomers. We pay attention to even the smallest details to meet the high standards of our most particular customers, ensuring everyone has a home that reflects their unique style.”
