A popular online beauty retailer is potentially up for sale as reports indicate that advisors have been engaged to assess the company’s future. Beauty Bay, established in 1999 by siblings Arron and David Gabbie and headquartered in Manchester, offers over 200 brands, including Ariana Grande, Clinique, MAC, and its exclusive product line.
According to a recent article by Sky News, Beauty Bay is considering various options to secure new funding, which might involve selling the business outright. The report mentions that Interpath, an advisory firm, is collaborating with Beauty Bay on this endeavor.
Currently, Beauty Bay has a workforce of 65 employees. The Mirror has reached out to the company for a statement on the matter.
In related news, Malin + Goetz, a beauty brand, has entered administration recently, leading to the closure of its seven stores in London. This decision is expected to impact more than 70 jobs. Online orders from Malin + Goetz have been temporarily halted, with a message on their website indicating a pause in online sales.
Although online purchases are on hold, consumers can still buy Malin + Goetz products from third-party retailers like Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK. The company has expressed that its website will be back up post a brief maintenance period, with no specific timeline provided. Malin + Goetz, originating in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, initially introduced six products for all skin types and has since diversified into fragrance, bodycare, and additional beauty segments.
