“Emma Raducanu to Debut at United Cup with Jack Draper”

Must read

Emma Raducanu has spoken up after being selected to represent Great Britain at the upcoming United Cup in January. The former US Open champion will team up with Jack Draper for the mixed-gender event.

Both players had to end their seasons prematurely, with Raducanu citing medical reasons for her withdrawal and Draper dealing with an arm issue. This will mark the debut for both athletes at the United Cup, as Raducanu had declined an earlier invitation to participate in the Billie Jean King Cup to focus on individual competitions in Asia.

Expressing her enthusiasm for the opportunity to play for Team GB alongside Draper, Raducanu stated, “I’m thrilled to make my United Cup debut in January. Representing my country with my teammates is a special experience.” Draper also shared his excitement, looking forward to competing in a new city in Australia during the tournament.

Raducanu faced challenges during the Asian swing post-US Open, encountering health issues and early exits in tournaments. Following medical advice, she withdrew from her remaining 2025 events to address health concerns before the United Cup in January.

On the other hand, Draper is set to return to action at the UTS London exhibition in December after recovering from his arm injury. Raducanu, on the other hand, will engage in an exhibition match against Amanda Anisimova in Miami before they kick off their 2026 seasons at the United Cup, leading up to the Australian Open.
