Firefighter Discovers Son Fatally Injured in Car Crash

Must read

A tragic incident unfolded as a firefighter responding to a car crash discovered that the victim was his own son. The heartbreaking event took place in Italy on the early hours of October 26 when a BMW carrying Omar Masia, 25, and four friends lost control on Baldu Bridge in Sardinia’s Tempio Pausania area. The vehicle crashed through the bridge’s railing, plunging 10 meters into a dry riverbed, resulting in fatal injuries to Omar.

Emergency services confirmed that Omar, seated in the back, was fatally crushed when the roof collapsed during the impact. His father, Massimiliano Masia, who was also a firefighter, arrived at the scene and was devastated to find his son’s lifeless body.

The surviving passengers managed to alert emergency services after trekking to a nearby house due to the lack of phone signal. Firefighters, including Massimiliano Masia, rushed to the scene where he recognized some of his son’s friends. Despite efforts to save Omar, he could not be revived.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash, with the driver facing charges for dangerous driving due to testing slightly above the legal alcohol limit. This incident has also prompted inquiries into the condition of other bridges in the area to prevent similar accidents in the future.
