An American mother, dubbed as the “worst ever,” has been arrested and charged with sexual assault for allegedly giving birth to a child fathered by her daughter’s 14-year-old school dance partner. Robyn Polston, aged 43, was apprehended by the Washington Police Department on November 3. Legal documents indicate that she is accused of delivering a baby in January, with the father believed to be her daughter’s teenage acquaintance.
Polston is facing two charges of criminal sexual assault involving a victim aged between 13 and 17, along with two counts of possessing child pornography. If found guilty, she could potentially receive up to 15 years in prison for each offense. She is currently held without bail and is scheduled for arraignment next month, having not yet entered a plea.
Based on a probable cause affidavit, authorities initiated an investigation after receiving a tip post-childbirth. Detectives acquired the baby’s birth certificate on February 13, noting that the infant shared the same middle and last name as the alleged victim.
When questioned about the father’s identity, Polston reportedly informed officers that he was a man named Brian in his twenties, who had lost contact after the birth. Subsequently, DNA samples were collected from Polston, the baby, and the teenager.
The results confirmed that both the boy and Polston were the biological parents, as outlined in the affidavit. Investigators also discovered that Polston had supervised a school dance attended by the teenager and her daughter in May 2023.
Reportedly, the hairstylist bestowed the newborn with the same middle and last name as the alleged victim. When confronted by law enforcement, Polston claimed the father was a man named Brian who disappeared post-birth.
The affidavit revealed that the boy temporarily relocated from the area but made visits in April and June 2024. The April visit coincided with roughly 40 weeks before Polston gave birth. Subsequently, the boy returned to Washington to reside with another family.
A search warrant executed on Google accounts linked to the teenager’s mobile phone unveiled sexually explicit content involving Polston and the minor. Assistant State’s Attorney Cassandra Mullikin reviewed the material, determining that Polston had taken the images.
Prosecutors allege that Polston and the minor engaged in communication using burner phones, storing each other’s contacts under false names to evade detection. Additionally, it is claimed that Polston attempted to persuade the teenager to conceal evidence of their relationship.
Prosecutors have requested her detention pending trial, citing concerns that she may not comply with orders or refrain from contacting the teenager further. Consequently, she will remain in custody until her court appearance on December 4.
