Alex Kingston, known for her role in “Strictly Come Dancing,” shared details about her challenging journey to motherhood. The actress, recognized for her part in “Doctor Who,” disclosed her battle with womb cancer last year, which led to a hysterectomy followed by radiotherapy.
After undergoing necessary treatments, the 62-year-old expressed feeling like herself again, healthier than she had been in years. Apart from her recent health struggles, she reflected on the difficulties she faced during her IVF journey to conceive her daughter, Salome Violetta Haertel, born in 2001 with her former husband, Florian Haertel, a German writer and journalist.
Reported by the Daily Mail, Kingston admitted to enduring around 13 rounds of IVF before successfully conceiving Salome, describing the process as immensely challenging and filled with desperation. She also mentioned her past fertility issues, stating that despite undergoing investigative surgery, no apparent reasons for the problems were found with her first husband.
Having been married three times, Kingston currently shares her life with Jonathan Stamp, with whom she highlighted their differences in personalities but complementary traits, emphasizing their unique bond.
Participating in the current season of “Strictly Come Dancing” with professional dancer Johannes Radebe, Kingston’s performances have been remarkable, earning praise from the judges. Notably, she received her first perfect score of the series from Shirley Ballas for her Rumba technique and continued to impress during Icons week with a captivating Foxtrot performance.
