Comedian Michael McIntyre’s Dramatic Weight Loss Journey

Must read

Michael McIntyre has shared that he has embarked on a weight loss journey by taking Mounjaro, under the encouragement of his wife Kitty. The comedian, previously weighing 15st 10lbs and categorized as obese by doctors, has seen positive results within three weeks.

The 49-year-old presenter of The Wheel initially hesitated but later witnessed significant changes in his weight. Speaking at a comedy show in London, Michael humorously addressed his weight loss, mentioning that he was called “obese” by a doctor who labeled it as a medical term.

Despite struggling with weight fluctuations over time, Michael attributed his recent weight gain to indulging in leftovers from his family. Mounjaro, also known as tirzepatide in medical circles, has gained popularity for its weight loss benefits, similar to Ozempic and Wegovy.

This weight suppressant drug mimics the GLP-1 hormone, aiding in reducing blood sugar levels and enhancing feelings of fullness. Originally developed for diabetes treatment, Mounjaro has proven successful in promoting weight loss, with celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Sharon Osbourne endorsing its efficacy.

Michael has made efforts to manage his weight, including spending a reported £4,000 weekly at a weight loss facility in Austria. Recalling his experience at the Mayr clinic in 2017, where he lost weight by consuming mainly soup and crackers, Michael mentioned feeling depressed during his stay.

In a podcast interview, he recounted a bizarre fear of apples that developed at the clinic, claiming that eating apples made him feel lethargic and confused. Despite his weight loss struggles, Michael continues to focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
