Must read

Nathan, the husband of a cherished mother who tragically passed away, has revealed his plans to commemorate her memory on the first anniversary of her death.

Emily Moss, known as an exceptional mother and a generous individual from Burnage, Greater Manchester, passed away in November 2024 due to sudden heart failure after dropping off their four-year-old daughter at a dance class.

In remembrance of this milestone, Nathan, aged 34, will undertake the challenge of climbing Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa at 13,671 feet, to raise funds for Trafford Domestic Abuse Services (TDAS), a charity where Emily had previously worked.

Reflecting on Emily’s heart condition, peripartum cardiomyopathy, Nathan shared, “When she gave birth to Isobel, we discovered her heart condition. It was a challenging period for us as we transitioned from a couple to a family and then learned about Emily’s heart condition.” Despite managing her condition with medication, Emily’s sudden passing in August came as a shock.

Describing the aftermath of Emily’s death, Nathan recounted the emotional turmoil he experienced upon learning of her collapse and subsequent demise. The funeral, held in December, drew a large crowd, emphasizing the impact Emily had on numerous lives.

Nathan and Emily, who met in high school and married in 2018, had aspirations of expanding their family before tragedy struck. Now, Nathan strives to honor Emily’s legacy by fundraising for a domestic abuse charity.

Expressing his admiration for Emily’s selflessness and parenting skills, Nathan highlighted her unwavering support for others and her exceptional mothering abilities. He shared the challenges he faces in emulating Emily’s approach to parenting, especially in tasks like styling their daughter’s hair.

Nathan’s upcoming expedition to Mount Toubkal, scheduled for November 28-29 alongside his friend Will Sargison, aims to raise funds for TDAS. His GoFundMe campaign has already surpassed £2,000 in donations, all directed towards supporting victims of domestic violence.

As Nathan navigates through the emotionally charged weeks ahead, marked by significant dates including his birthday, their anniversary, and Emily’s passing, he finds solace in commemorating Emily’s memory through acts of kindness and support for others.

In addition to the charity climb, Nathan plans to surprise Isobel and her cousins with a trip to Disneyland over the anniversary weekend, ensuring that Emily’s spirit of love and generosity continues to shine brightly in their lives.
