A man who admitted to killing, dismembering, and cooking his friend’s brain with butter said he did it to experience the taste of human flesh. The horrific incident took place in London, where Peter Bryan turned a quiet flat into a gruesome crime scene by butchering 43-year-old Brian Cherry in what he described as a “voodoo ritual.” Police were shocked to find brain tissue in a frying pan at the scene.
This nightmare started in 1993 when Bryan, then 23, fatally attacked a 20-year-old shop assistant named Nisha Sheth with a hammer in West London. Despite being diagnosed as a schizophrenic with violent tendencies, Bryan was considered low risk by the early 2000s and was released into the community under supervision.
Tragically, Bryan’s release led to another gruesome act in 2004 when he killed Brian Cherry in a violent attack at a London hostel. The police found Cherry’s dismembered body and brain tissue being cooked by Bryan. Subsequently, Bryan was sent to a secure hospital for treatment due to his extreme danger to others.
In a shocking turn of events, Bryan killed again in the hospital, attacking Richard Loudwell in a savage manner just months after the initial incident. Bryan was eventually given multiple life sentences with no possibility of release, as the judge labeled him an evil and dangerous man who posed a perpetual threat to society.
Investigations into Bryan’s case uncovered numerous errors and oversights that failed to protect the public from his violent tendencies.
