Ottawa is set to host the Northern Super League championship game on November 14th this year. The match, which will determine the league champion and winner of the Diana B. Matheson Cup, will be held at TD Place. The playoffs leading up to the championship match will span two weeks, with the complete schedule expected to be revealed soon.
The Diana B. Matheson Cup, named after Canadian soccer icon Diana Matheson, who is also a co-founder of the NSL, symbolizes the growth of professional women’s soccer in Canada. Ottawa Rapid FC, with a record of 10 wins, 2 losses, and 3 draws, currently leads the NSL standings.
Last season, Vancouver Rise FC clinched the championship in the league’s inaugural year.
