Celebrated actor and advocate for Parkinson’s disease awareness, Michael J. Fox expressed a mix of “pride” and “humility” upon being honored with a promotion within the prestigious Order of Canada on Friday. The ceremony at Rideau Hall saw Fox being elevated to the companion level by Gov. Gen. Louise Arbour, recognizing his impactful global advocacy and candid discussions regarding Parkinson’s disease.
Speaking to The Canadian Press post-ceremony, Fox shared his deep appreciation for Canada, attributing his values and identity to his upbringing in the country.
