“Thieves Steal 70,000 Pints of Guinness in UK Heist”

Must read

Thieves in the United Kingdom have taken theft to a new level. British authorities are working to recover 70,000 pints of stolen Guinness. The stolen Guinness, known for its creamy and dark flavor, with a value of 115,000 pounds ($216,000 Cdn), was taken from a depot near Liverpool in northwest England, as reported by the Cheshire Constabulary on Thursday.

Detective Sergeant Gary McClatchy emphasized the importance of upholding the principles of ownership, stating, “It is famously said that ‘Guinness is good for you,’ but that is only true when it has been legitimately obtained. We are committed to ensuring the full recovery of all the stolen goods.”

This incident occurred shortly after a similar beer theft in the United States, where approximately 34,000 cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon were stolen, garnering significant public attention due to the brewer’s playful social media responses.

The stolen Guinness, intended for distribution to pubs, was taken by two drivers on Monday night in Runcorn. They seized two trailer truckloads containing about 800 barrels of stout, estimated to be worth 50,000 pounds ($93,000).

Meanwhile, in Southern California, a theft of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer from a warehouse valued at $70,000 US ($97,000 Cdn) prompted the company to offer a $20,000 US reward for any information leading to the recovery of the stolen goods.

In response to the theft, the company addressed the thief on social media, acknowledging the desire to boast about the stolen PBR but urging them to acquire it through lawful means. The company emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “P.s. this is real and we are deadly serious.”
