Apple has officially announced its latest smartphone, the iPhone 17e, confirming earlier speculations. Following the iPhone 16e, the new model continues Apple’s trend of offering key features at a more budget-friendly price compared to its premium counterparts.
Priced at £599, the iPhone 17e is over £200 cheaper than the iPhone 17 and £500 more affordable than the 17 Pro, now featuring 256GB of standard storage, doubling the capacity of its predecessor.
Enhancements include the A19 chip for improved performance over the A18, along with the new C1X cellular modem promising faster speeds. The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display offers vivid visuals and is shielded by durable Ceramic Shield glass. MagSafe, absent in the 16e, enables faster wireless charging and attachment of compatible accessories.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the 48MP Fusion camera, offering advanced sensor capabilities for versatile shooting. Safety features like Emergency SOS via satellite and Crash Detection further enhance the user experience.
Available in black, white, and a new soft pink finish, the iPhone 17e delivers a combination of performance and features at a great value, according to Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing. The device is designed to offer lasting speed, security, and value for users seeking to upgrade within the iPhone 17 lineup.
