British politician Boris Johnson confessed to utilizing artificial intelligence technology to aid in the creation of his written works. The former Conservative Prime Minister expressed his admiration for AI and specifically mentioned his fondness for ChatGPT, a conversational AI tool. Johnson revealed that he finds it gratifying when ChatGPT, an AI chatbot, compliments him by describing him as “clever” and “brilliant.”
During an interview on AI Arabiya’s English channel, Johnson enthusiastically shared his enthusiasm for AI, stating, “I love AI. I love ChatGPT. I love it. ChatGPT is fantastic. It’s so welcoming. I’m currently working on various literary projects.” He further explained his process of utilizing AI by posing questions and receiving responses from ChatGPT, which consistently lauds him with praises such as “clever” and “excellent.”
Transitioning from his political career to authorship, Johnson has been actively seeking the limelight following his resignation in 2022. Despite embarking on a high-profile promotional tour for his memoir “Unleashed,” recounting his tenure in No10, Johnson faced disappointment as a book on gut health recipes outsold his work. The book, which earned Johnson a substantial advance of £510,000, sold approximately 42,000 copies in its debut week, falling short of the 92,000 copies sold by Tony Blair’s memoir “A Journey” during its initial release in 2010.
Before entering politics, Johnson worked as a journalist and faced scrutiny during his time as Prime Minister for allegedly missing crucial Covid-related meetings to focus on writing a book about Shakespeare. Notably, Johnson has authored nearly a dozen books, including a notable historical biography on Winston Churchill titled “The Churchill Factor.”
As per Harper Collins, Johnson’s prolific writing career has spanned various genres and subjects, solidifying his reputation as a multifaceted author.
