An online personality has been apprehended for allegedly instructing a criminal group to harm two individuals who purportedly intruded into her residence. Izabela Paiva, aged 26, was taken into custody recently as part of a law enforcement operation targeting organized crime. Paiva became aware of the break-in at her home in Porto Velho, situated in the heart of Brazil’s Amazon region, while she was away, as per investigators’ statements.
Instead of contacting law enforcement authorities, Paiva purportedly directed members of the notorious Comando Vermelho gang to confront the intruders, administer punishment, and recover her stolen belongings. The Rondônia State Civil Police indicated, “Despite being fully cognizant of the gravity of the situation, the suspect made a conscious choice not to seek help from the authorities.”
Authorities suspect that Paiva not only maintains “close connections” with Comando Vermelho but might also be an active member of the group, as reported by NeedToKnow. The mother of two frequently showcases a lavish lifestyle on social media, displaying images with jet skis, bundles of cash, and luxury vehicles to her audience of over 100,000 followers. Comando Vermelho, also known as the Red Command, is a prominent criminal organization in Brazil, established within Rio de Janeiro prisons during the 1970s.
The group is engaged in illicit activities such as drug trafficking, arms smuggling, and organized crime across multiple states, known for engaging in violent territorial disputes with rivals like the Primeiro Comando da Capital. The operation to apprehend Paiva was named “Arur Betach,” a Hebrew phrase meaning “cursed is the one who trusts,” a term she purportedly posted on social media shortly after the break-in.
This incident follows an inquiry initiated by authorities in response to the tragic deaths of an influencer and her teenage daughter in the country. Lidiane Aline Lorenco, 33, and 15-year-old Miana Sophya Santos were found deceased in their apartment on the 11th floor after concerned neighbors raised alarms. Firefighters were called to the Rio de Janeiro building after residents noticed a foul smell emanating from the flat and received no response.
Upon entering, authorities discovered Lidiane in a bedroom and Miana in the living room, according to local reports, both having passed away some time before being found.
