It has been half a year since Jack, 4, and Lilly Sullivan, 6, disappeared under mysterious circumstances from their bedroom, and their whereabouts remain unknown.
The siblings went missing from their residence in Lansdowne Station, Pictou County, Nova Scotia, on May 2, 2025. Their mother, Malehya Brooks-Murray, contacted authorities after realizing her children were not in the house, where they resided with her, stepfather Daniel Martell, and younger sister Meadow.
According to reports, the mother overheard Jack and Lilly playing in another room around 10 a.m. When she checked on them later, they had vanished, likely having exited through the patio door.
A thorough search was launched for the missing Canadian children, accompanied by interviews. A local resident, Brad Wong, mentioned hearing a noisy vehicle near the residence in the early hours of May 2.
In court records, RCMP Corporal Charlene Curl documented Wong’s observations, noting that he could see vehicle lights from his elevated position overlooking Daniel Martell’s residence.
Wong reported that the vehicle departed and returned several times during the night, remaining audible throughout, as per The Sun.
Another neighbor, Justin Smith, informed authorities of a vehicle maneuvering near the family’s property by the railroad tracks at approximately 1:30 a.m. He later learned from Wong that Daniel’s vehicle had been moving back and forth multiple times that night, indicating that the vehicle Smith heard belonged to Daniel.
Daniel told officials that he retired to bed early and only woke up the following morning. He maintained that no one left the house that night, and there were no visitors present.
Meanwhile, Malehya mentioned to investigators that Daniel claimed to have stayed up cleaning but was unsure of what exactly, as the house was not noticeably cleaner in the morning.
Despite extensive efforts, Jack and Lilly remain missing to this day.
Half a year since she last saw her children, Malehya shared a poignant message on Facebook, expressing her deep longing for Lilly and Jack to return home.
Various speculations regarding their disappearance have circulated online, but the prevailing belief is that they wandered off together. Sergeant Rob McCamon affirmed that the case remains a missing persons investigation, with no indications of criminal involvement at present.
Search efforts are ongoing, with a significant operation scheduled for November 15 to locate Jack and Lilly, especially with dropping temperatures. Volunteers, coordinated by the Canadian organization Please Bring Me Home, will participate in the search.
