Kelvin and his spouse, Liz, have joyfully welcomed a new member to their farm. Viewers of the upcoming episode of Fletcher’s Family Farm witnessed the heartwarming moment when one of their ewes gave birth to a baby lamb. Concern arose when the mother sheep didn’t immediately attend to cleaning her newborn.
Reflecting on the lambing process before the birth, Liz and Kelvin shared their relief at the ease of this year’s lambing season compared to the challenges of the previous year. Liz expressed gratitude for the majority of ewes successfully birthing without assistance, emphasizing their preference for minimal intervention to allow the animals to handle the process themselves.
During the birth, Liz became anxious as she observed the ewe’s behavior, questioning whether she would attend to the newborn lamb. Without hesitation, Liz leaped over the fence to assist the lamb, highlighting the importance of prompt action to prevent suffocation when the mother fails to clean the newborn properly.
In a different segment of the show, the couple introduced a new addition to the farm, a bull named Crowther in honor of Kelvin’s late friend. Kelvin expressed his excitement at having a male animal on the farm for the first time, attributing significance to the bull’s namesake and the memories associated with his friend.
Fast forward four months, Kelvin marveled at the bull’s growth, reminiscing about his late friend and the resemblance he saw in Crowther. He revealed that sharing a picture of the bull with his friend’s parents brought them joy and comfort.
The upcoming episode of Fletcher’s Family Farm will feature the Fletchers navigating the challenges and rewards of their fourth year in farming, including the start of lambing season and the introduction of a new bull to expand their herd. Additionally, Kelvin will explore arable farming while facing the aftermath of a fire at their farmhouse.
