The team behind one of the esteemed horror and sci-fi film festivals in the UK has guaranteed attendees will leave feeling “traumatized” by the experience.
Grimmfest commences on October 9 in Manchester and runs until October 12 at the ODEON Great Northern in the city. This year’s lineup includes a remarkable number of world, UK, and international premieres, with a special feature by the festival’s directors, Simeon Halligan and Rachel Richardson-Jones.
Established in 2009, the festival is now marking its seventeenth year with notable guests like popstar Pixie Lott and actor Dev Patel (known for films like “Monkey Man” and “Lion”). Over the four-day event, 22 feature films will be showcased.
In anticipation of the festival, Grimmfest director Simeon Halligan and lead film programmer Steve Balshaw expressed excitement about the World Premiere of their film “Past Life,” a psychological mystery thriller set in Manchester and starring Jeremy Piven, Tim McInnerny, and Aneurin Barnard.
Halligan and Balshaw highlighted that each film at the festival is a premiere of some kind, including International, European, UK, or Regional premieres. They also mentioned the themed shorts programs designed to captivate and unsettle the audience.
With an increased number of guest filmmakers and stars from various parts of the world, the organizers look forward to presenting a diverse range of works and facilitating networking opportunities with the audience.
Excitement is building up for the festival, with the organizers eager to witness the culmination of their hard work and dedication in creating this immersive cinematic experience.
Grimmfest is scheduled to run from October 9 to October 12. For more information on the event and the complete film lineup, visit the festival website.
