“Mother and Daughter Banned from Owning Animals for 10 Years After Severe Neglect”

Must read

A mother and her daughter have been prohibited from caring for animals for a decade due to neglecting their pet dogs and subjecting them to unsanitary living conditions.

Diane Kenvyn, 43, and her 19-year-old daughter Ellissa Kenvyn pleaded guilty to mistreating four severely neglected dogs named Beau, Covou, Max, and Rocco. Rocco, in particular, was found vomiting fabric from a lead, believed to have been ingested while scavenging for food.

Rocco had to undergo a critical blood transfusion due to severe anemia. The dogs were discovered in a deplorable state, residing in a filthy, mud-soaked outbuilding reeking of waste.

Reports of the dogs’ poor welfare prompted the RSPCA to intervene on December 10. An RSPCA spokesperson described encountering two emaciated dogs on the property, visibly underweight and in distress.

The dogs were promptly removed for veterinary examination. The veterinarian determined that the dogs, Beau, Covou, Max, and Rocco, had endured unnecessary suffering due to neglect of their condition, diet, and overall well-being.

Despite Covou being euthanized, Rocco, Max, and Beau have since recovered and found new homes. The mother and daughter were handed an eight-week suspended prison sentence and a ten-year animal ownership ban, with a five-year disqualification appeal restriction.
