A person in their thirties, associated with motorsport, is facing accusations of sexually assaulting a nurse who was caring for Michael Schumacher. The incident reportedly took place at Schumacher’s residence in Gland, Switzerland, as per a report by Swiss newspaper 24heures.
The alleged assault occurred in 2019, but the details have only recently come to light after the nurse filed a criminal complaint over two years later. A trial regarding the matter is expected to commence this week.
According to the rape indictment, the accused individual assaulted the nurse in an upstairs bedroom of the property while she was providing care to Schumacher following his skiing accident in 2013. The incident reportedly happened after an alcohol-fueled evening, with the two encountering each other in the billiard room of the mansion.
Although the accused person claimed a prior romantic encounter with the nurse at a club in Geneva, the nurse denied any such relationship existed. Notably, none of the Schumacher family members are implicated in the assault, as per the indictment, confirming their absence during the events.
Over a decade ago, Michael Schumacher suffered severe head trauma in a skiing accident, leading to his current need for continuous medical care at home. His wife, Corinna, has been discreet about the details of his care but provided an update in a recent Netflix documentary.
In the documentary released in 2021, Corinna expressed her daily longing for Michael and emphasized the collective effort of the family to support him through therapies and ensure his comfort and privacy. She highlighted the importance of maintaining Michael’s privacy, echoing his own value of keeping personal matters private.
Schumacher’s illustrious career saw him clinch his first two world championship titles with Benetton in 1994 and 1995 before securing five consecutive championships with Ferrari from 2000 to 2004.
