Local residents reported that a woman was found deceased in the streets of a popular coastal town, with passers-by making the discovery.
Following the incident in the Morfa area of Prestatyn, North Wales, an 18-year-old man is being held on suspicion of murder. The discovery was made yesterday morning, just before 8:40 am.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the identity of the deceased woman. North Wales Police are actively investigating the scene, with additional officers set to offer community support over the weekend.
There is no current search for other individuals connected to the case, according to officials.
Superintendent Lee Boycott of North Wales Police stated, “We are not actively pursuing any other suspects in relation to the incident, and there is no indication of a broader threat to public safety.
“Ongoing investigations are in progress to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s demise, and individuals are advised to steer clear of the area.
“Increased patrols will be in operation today and throughout the weekend to ensure the community’s security and peace of mind following this event.
“We urge against spreading rumors online and encourage the public to report any concerns or information promptly to the authorities.”
