Ruth Langsford recently shared with her followers that she is feeling unwell after catching a common illness. The popular Loose Women host gave an update on her health on Instagram, where she discussed various remedies she is using to help her recover.
“Dealing with this illness,” said Ruth, 65, as she posted a picture of her homemade chicken broth and vegetable soup. She also showcased different products she is using while resting in bed, including Just Bee ‘Immunity Honey’, Twinings Superblends Defence tea, Lemsip Max Cold & Flu sachets, and Echinaforce drops. Additionally, she tried rubbing VapoRub on her feet for relief.
In a video showing her applying VapoRub, Ruth wrote, “Willing to try anything!” and later added, “Time for bed… socks on!” This update from Ruth comes after she shared about her mother’s ongoing battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Ruth’s mother, Joan, 94, who resides in a care home near Ruth’s home in Surrey, is currently facing memory loss and other challenging symptoms.
Reflecting on her mother’s condition, Ruth mentioned, “She struggles to remember daily activities, but she recognizes me in the moment.” She also highlighted the care she provides for her mother, ensuring she receives necessary medical attention and supplies. Ruth expressed that despite concerns about her own memory lapses possibly leading to dementia, she chooses not to undergo testing for the condition, preferring to live her life without the burden of knowing her susceptibility.
Having experienced both her parents suffering from Alzheimer’s, Ruth acknowledged her occasional fears but remains focused on living in the present moment.
