Virgin Media is rolling out a major upgrade for its TV platform users, introducing three new bonus channels filled with drama, comedy, and sci-fi content. This enhancement, powered by Rakuten, includes FAST channels that are free for viewers.
The new channels are Rakuten TV Drama on channel 462, showcasing popular movies like The Big Short and Gosford Park. Rakuten TV Comedy on channel 463 offers films such as Big Momma’s House and The Internship, promising a delightful comedy experience. Lastly, Rakuten TV: Sci Fi on channel 464 brings viewers a variety of content from the realm of science fiction.
Virgin TV 360 and Flex customers will automatically receive these additional channels at no extra cost. The channels are easily accessible through Virgin Media’s TV guide and can be found via voice control, ensuring a seamless viewing experience.
David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, expressed excitement about the new streaming channels, emphasizing the value they bring to customers by offering top-notch entertainment without additional charges. With these latest additions, Virgin TV subscribers now have access to a total of 40 FAST channels, enhancing their viewing options.
While a subscription fee is required for Virgin Media TV services, the array of channels now available surpasses what is offered by free-to-air platforms.
