“Wife Allegedly Pours Hot Oil on Sleeping Husband”

Must read

A man is currently hospitalized with severe burns after his wife allegedly poured hot oil on him while he was sleeping, then proceeded to sprinkle red chilli powder on the burned areas. Dinesh Kumar, a pharmaceutical firm employee, was asleep beside his wife Sadhna and their daughter when he was abruptly awakened by intense pain on his face and body. He recounted that Sadhna stood over him with a container of hot oil and issued a threat, warning him not to shout or she would pour more oil on him. The incident occurred around 3:15 am at their residence in Dehli, India.

Neighbors heard Dinesh’s cries for help and attempted to intervene by knocking on the couple’s door, but their offers were disregarded. The landlord eventually contacted Dinesh’s brother-in-law, Ram Sagar, who arranged for Dinesh to be transported to the hospital. Following the incident, Dinesh was transferred from a local medical facility to Safdarjung Hospital in New Dehli for further treatment due to the severity of his injuries.

According to statements from witnesses, including the landlord’s daughter, Anjali, Dinesh was found with severe burns and repeatedly mentioned that his wife had poured hot oil and chilli powder on him. The couple had been residing in the landlord’s house for approximately seven months.

Despite the couple’s turbulent eight-year marriage history and past police involvement in domestic disputes, Sadhna has not been arrested yet as the investigation is in its early stages. The police report indicated that the couple had a history of disagreements, and on the night of the alleged assault, they were reportedly quarreling before bedtime.

Police disclosed that two years ago, Sadhna had filed a complaint against Dinesh at the Crime Against Women (CAW) Cell, which was later resolved, but she lodged another complaint a few weeks prior to the recent incident. The authorities have gathered statements from Dinesh and preliminary evidence related to the case at the Ambedkar Nagar police station.
