An unfortunate incident unfolded when a young boy tragically took the life of his mother following a disagreement between the two.
The nine-year-old child allegedly stabbed his 37-year-old mother to death after a dispute over his behavior, as per reports from law enforcement.
Eyewitnesses recounted the heartbreaking moment when the mother, Caline Arruda dos Santos, requested a final hug from her son before he fatally wounded her in the abdomen.
Prior to the tragic event, it was reported that Caline had asked her son to stop playing in the street, leading to the escalation of the situation.
Following an argument at the home of her partner, the boy’s stepfather, Caline apparently threatened her son with informing a relative about his behavior, according to a Civil Police report cited by a Brazillian news outlet.
Allegedly, the boy retrieved a knife from the kitchen, concealed it under his clothing, and then approached his mother and eldest brother at the door leading to the street, where he carried out the fatal stabbing.
Heartbreakingly, a witness recalled the mother’s words as she asked for a final hug, knowing she wouldn’t survive the attack.
After the incident, a neighbor rushed Caline to the hospital, but sadly, she was pronounced dead upon arrival at Parelheiros Hospital in Brazil.
Due to the boy’s age, being under 12, he was not taken into custody by the police since he falls under the jurisdiction of the Children’s Court. Currently, he is under the care of a cousin of the victim.
In a statement, the relative mentioned that the boy seems unaware of the gravity of his actions, only realizing that his mother passed away after being informed by another individual.
The tragic occurrence took place on Rua Gaspar Leme in Parelheiros, south of Sao Paolo, and is currently being investigated by the Civil Police.
