Two lucky Premium Bonds holders, one from Liverpool and the other from Norfolk, have each won a substantial £1 million prize. The winning bond numbers are 496VT504601 for the Liverpool winner and 282NN327573 for the Norfolk winner. The Liverpool winner purchased their winning bond in April 2022, while the Norfolk winner has held theirs since September 2016. Both winners have the maximum holding of £50,000. This month’s draw resulted in over £410 million in tax-free prizes, with a total of 6,221,321 prizes awarded. The grand total of prizes awarded since the first draw in 1957 now exceeds £40.3 billion.
In addition to the two million-pound winners, there were 78 bond holders who won £100,000 each, 156 winners of £50,000, 313 winners of £25,000, and 782 winners of £10,000. A large number of bond holders, nearly 2.7 million, received a prize of £25 each. Premium Bonds, launched in November 1956, offer individuals the opportunity to win tax-free prizes while being backed by the UK Treasury. Newly purchased bonds must be held for one full month before being eligible for the prize draw.
The winning bond numbers for the £1 million jackpot prizes are announced at the beginning of each month, with winners being contacted directly by Agent Million. Bond holders can check if they have won prizes ranging from £25 to £100,000 by using the Premium Bonds prize checker app, visiting the NS&I website, or asking Alexa. The next prize check for March will be available on Tuesday, March 3rd.
To check prizes on the NS&I website, bond holders will need their Premium Bonds holder’s number. Those using the Premium Bonds app can use either their holder’s number or their NS&I number for verification.
