“Freeview Users Urged to Retune for Channel Lineup Updates”

Must read

Freeview users are advised to promptly check their settings and retune their devices as an update has been rolled out by the popular UK TV platform. This update introduces several changes to the channel lineup and TV guide. Freeview has stated that some broadcasters are implementing adjustments this week, necessitating a retune to ensure channels and the TV guide remain current.

The recent changes include four notable updates. Firstly, three existing channels have been rebranded with new names, which will now be displayed in the TV guide. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) has been renamed That’s 20th Century, offering music from past decades and iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) is now That’s 20th Century MCR, while That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) has been simplified to That’s Classics.

In addition to the rebrands, a new channel called That’s Entertainment is set to launch on Channel 75. Although detailed program listings are not widely available yet, more information is expected soon, according to Freeview.

Freeview emphasizes that these updates are part of the ongoing changes as broadcasters frequently modify their offerings to ensure diverse and current content.

For users with Freeview, the changes should be visible on the TV planner. If not, a retune may be necessary by following these steps:
– Press the menu button on your remote
– Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option
– Enter your PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000)
– Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune”
– Confirm the deletion of existing channels
– Your device will automatically search for and store the updated channels.

Although Freeview updates occur regularly, this recent update is significant, making it advisable to retune your device sooner rather than later.
