According to official documents from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Emman, also known as Emmanuelle Atienza, passed away on October 22 at her main residence. Her father, Kim Atienza, a well-known Filipino television personality and meteorologist, announced her tragic death last Friday.
Having recently moved to Los Angeles from the Philippines to pursue a career as a top influencer in the U.S., Emman quickly gained fame for her open discussions on sensitive topics like mental health and bullying. She had a massive following on TikTok with over 856,000 followers and nearly 50 million likes, while her Instagram account boasted more than 218,000 followers.
The young star candidly shared her personal struggles, which included managing bipolar disorder, promoting body positivity, and confronting suicidal thoughts. She revealed in a January Instagram post that she had entered the year feeling uncertain about life, having battled these issues since the age of 12, with the challenges worsening over time.
Despite describing her mental health struggles as “treatment-resistant,” Emman expressed hope for the future in her post. Her mother, Feliciana, paid a touching tribute to her daughter, emphasizing Emman’s impact on those around her and urging others to carry forward the qualities she embodied.
Emman’s family, known as one of the most prominent in the Philippines, included former Manila mayor Lito Atienza as her grandfather. She was also recognized for her outspoken views on social and political matters, acknowledging that she faced backlash for her progressive stance in her home country.
