“BT Mobile Set for Comeback, Offers Deals to Broadband Customers”

Must read

BT Broadband customers in the UK are in for a pleasant surprise as BT Mobile is set to re-enter the market after pausing new customer sign-ups in 2023. Previously, BT had favored its EE network brand, but now there is a notable shift in focus. BT has announced that existing broadband customers will soon have access to BT-branded SIM deals once again.

Although specific details have not yet been disclosed, this move indicates BT’s commitment to enhancing the visibility of its well-established brand, which had taken a backseat to EE as the primary consumer focus in recent years. CEO Allison Kirkby, who assumed leadership in 2024, is determined to revive BT’s presence in UK households to prevent the brand from losing public recognition.

Kirkby expressed during an event at Wembley that after substantial investments in their networks, the time has come to further invest in their brands, products, and services. This relaunch will position BT in direct competition with major providers like Vodafone and O2, as well as budget-friendly networks such as Giffgaff, Tesco Mobile, and SMARTY.

While pricing details are yet to be unveiled, BT plans to offer bundled services of broadband, landline, and mobile SIM under a single package and monthly bill. Industry analyst Paolo Pescatore views this move as an effort to stay relevant in a highly competitive telecom market where connectivity is not just about coverage but also about resilience, scale, and trust.

BT has also announced its partnership as the official telecoms provider for the UEFA Euro 2028 tournament, which will be hosted in various locations across Britain and Ireland. Pescatore emphasized the importance of reconnecting with users, households, and businesses, noting that the UEFA Euro 2028 deal serves as a significant platform to showcase BT’s scale, relevance, and service delivery.

Highlighting the unifying power of sports, Pescatore mentioned that major events like UEFA Euro 2028 have the ability to bring nations together, create shared experiences, and foster emotional connections that transcend other platforms.
