“European Airports Disrupted by Drone Activity”

Must read

A European airport has halted its operations due to unidentified drone activity in the vicinity, marking the third such occurrence within a span of two days.

Vilnius Airport in Lithuania took the decision to restrict airspace after detecting a drone within its premises, as per a spokesperson’s initial statement.

Similarly, yesterday saw the suspension of operations at two major international airports in Belgium due to drone interference. Brussels Airport confirmed the grounding of all departing and arriving flights owing to drone sightings nearby, leading to delays, cancellations, and potential impacts on Wednesday morning flights.

As a precautionary measure, air traffic at Brussels’ second-largest airport, Charleroi, was briefly stopped. Flights were redirected to Liege airport initially, but it too had to close due to suspected drone presence.
