Motorola Challenges Samsung with New Edge 70 Max Smartphone

While Samsung continues to lead in global Android sales, Motorola is making a strong comeback with its latest release, the Motorola Edge 70 Max. This new smartphone boasts two standout features that set it apart from Samsung’s latest flagship Galaxy phones – an impressive battery capacity and ultra-fast charging capability.

Inside the Edge 70 Max lies a massive 7,100mAh silicon-carbon battery designed to provide extended usage for activities like streaming, gaming, and browsing. Unlike conventional lithium-ion batteries found in Samsung devices, the silicon-carbon technology used in the Edge Max packs more energy into a compact space, offering longer battery life without adding bulk or weight to the phone.

When the battery needs a quick boost, Motorola has implemented a rapid charging solution with the Edge 70 Max supporting 90W TurboPower charging. Motorola claims that just six minutes of charging can provide enough power for a full day, outperforming Samsung’s current 60W wired charging capabilities.

The device has already garnered praise from experts at DXOMARK, receiving the prestigious Gold Label for its exceptional battery life and charging performance.

Beyond its battery prowess, the Motorola Edge 70 Max comes packed with flagship features. It features a stunning 6.82-inch Quad HD+ (2K) display and is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, catering to demanding tasks from gaming to AI operations. Additionally, a large vapour chamber cooling system ensures that the phone stays cool during intensive usage.

In terms of photography, the Edge 70 Max boasts an AI-powered camera setup led by a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 sensor, complemented by an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a dedicated macro lens for close-up shots.

Other notable features include an aircraft-grade aluminium frame, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, water resistance, and a premium design available in Pantone Aqua Gray, Pantone Dark Shadow, and Pantone Ice Melt.

Wilkin Lee, Head of Marketing UK & Ireland at Motorola, highlighted the device’s premium entertainment experience, stating, “Great technology should look beautiful, perform brilliantly, and fit effortlessly into everyday life.”

The Motorola Edge 70 Max is now available for purchase in the UK at a price of £699.99.
