Noel Clarke, most recognized for his portrayal in the science fiction series “Doctor Who,” has been formally accused of six sexual offenses, including two instances of sexual assault, by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) of England and Wales on Wednesday. The 50-year-old British actor and filmmaker, renowned for his role as Mickey Smith on the BBC program from 2005 to 2010, is also confronting one charge of exposure and three charges of voyeurism.
The voyeurism accusations pertain to the unauthorized observation or recording of someone engaging in a private act without their approval, typically for personal satisfaction, as outlined by the CPS. These alleged offenses involving Clarke reportedly transpired between 2007 and 2016, based on complaints lodged by five women.
These charges surface five years following a detailed report by the Guardian that disclosed claims of sexual harassment, groping, and bullying made against Clarke by 20 women, some of whom alleged unwelcome advances or inappropriate touching on the set of “Doctor Who,” allegations that Clarke vehemently refuted.
As reported by the Guardian, the recent charges were filed subsequent to an investigation initiated in September 2025. Clarke is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on October 21.
Apart from his role in “Doctor Who,” Clarke is recognized for his work as a writer and lead actor in the teen crime drama movies “Kidulthood” (2006), “Adulthood” (2008), and “Brotherhood” (2016), addressing themes of substance abuse, harassment, and violence in London’s urban landscape. Additionally, he directed “Adulthood” and helmed both the direction and production of “Brotherhood.” Clarke’s other notable screen appearances include “Centurion” (2010), “Fast Girls” (2012), “Star Trek Into Darkness” (2013), and the television series “Bulletproof” (2018-2021).
