European leaders gathered in Kyiv alongside President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to commemorate Ukraine’s Independence Day while Russia continues its invasion. The visiting leaders pledged additional military and financial aid to Ukraine, with Burnham announcing the UK government’s approval for classified information sharing to facilitate local production of long-range missiles in Ukraine.
Zelenskyy stressed the crucial role of international assistance in Ukraine’s conflict with Russia, highlighting the need for collective defense efforts. Meanwhile, the Kremlin condemned Britain for its involvement in supporting Ukraine and warned of consequences for supplying drones to Kyiv. The ongoing conflict has resulted in escalating aerial attacks causing civilian casualties and infrastructure damage in both countries.
