Elyse Bennett contributed her ninth goal of the season to secure the win for the Roses, who currently hold the second position with a record of 9-4-3. The team, now under interim head coach Maryse Bard-Martel, displayed a strong performance.
Although Shelina Zadorsky seemed to level the score for Toronto in the 68th minute, her goal was disallowed due to an offside ruling. Montreal Roses’ goalkeeper Anna Karpenko made an impressive display, facing 20 shots, with nine on target, to keep a clean sheet.
Toronto’s goalkeeper Sabrina D’Angelo faced seven shots, five of which were on target.
