The Windsor Police Service has announced the arrest of a 27-year-old man for impaired driving following a car collision with a residential property. Responding to the incident on Armanda Street close to Malden Road around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, law enforcement discovered the vehicle had crashed onto the front lawn, coming to a halt with its bumper against the front steps. The driver was found inside the vehicle displaying various signs of impairment, such as bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, instability while standing, and struggling to remain alert.
Subsequently, the individual was apprehended and transported to Windsor police headquarters, where a breathalyzer test indicated alcohol levels exceeding twice the legal limit. The individual now faces charges related to impaired driving. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the crash, although the property sustained over $10,000 in damages.
