Apple has introduced AppleCare One in the UK, expanding from its initial launch in the US. This new subscription service is now available to British customers, offering a convenient and potentially cost-effective way to safeguard multiple Apple devices under a single plan.
For a monthly fee of £16.99, AppleCare One provides coverage for up to three eligible devices, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches. In case of accidental damage, loss, or theft, Apple will either repair the device or offer up to three replacement devices per year, depending on the nature of the claim.
AppleCare One enhances the existing AppleCare+ service, which already includes unlimited accidental damage repairs, battery servicing, and 24/7 priority access to Apple support. The key advantage of AppleCare One is the ability for customers to protect multiple products with one subscription instead of purchasing separate plans for each device.
Customers could potentially save up to £11.48 per month by covering an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch under AppleCare One compared to acquiring individual AppleCare+ plans with Theft and Loss coverage for each device.
An additional benefit is the flexibility to add eligible devices up to four years old to the plan, as long as they are in good condition. This extended window for device coverage surpasses the standard 60-day period for purchasing AppleCare+ after buying a product.
AppleCare One also simplifies the upgrade process. If a covered device is traded in for a new one directly from Apple, the old device is automatically removed from the subscription, and the new one is seamlessly added without any extra steps.
Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, emphasized the customer-centric approach of AppleCare One, stating that it provides a simpler and more flexible way for UK customers to benefit from the trusted protection of AppleCare+. The service offers one plan, one price, and the assurance that all eligible products can be covered under the subscription.
