Eastern Airways Ceases Operations, Cancels All Flights

Must read

Eastern Airways, a UK domestic airline, has ceased operations and canceled all its flights. The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) confirmed that the regional airline, which served from six UK airports, is currently not operating any flights, advising customers against going to the airport.

The airline previously flew to various destinations, including Aberdeen, Humberside, London Gatwick, Newquay, Teesside International, and Wick. Following the company’s filing of a notice of intent to appoint an administrator at the Insolvency and Companies Court within the High Court on Monday morning, all Eastern Airways flights have been grounded.

Selina Chadha, the CAA’s consumer and markets director, cautioned passengers with bookings on Eastern Airways not to head to the airport as all flights have been canceled. Affected customers are encouraged to make alternative travel arrangements using other airlines, trains, or coaches.

In response to the situation, London North Eastern Railway, ScotRail, TransPennine Express, and Northern are offering complimentary standard-class travel to Eastern Airways staff and customers on October 28 and 29. To qualify for this offer, passengers must present valid Eastern Airways employee identification, boarding passes, or flight confirmations to station personnel.

Established in 1997, Eastern Airways previously operated charter flights for sports teams, including Premier League and Championship clubs.
