“Ikea Expands Discount Program for UK Educators & Healthcare Workers”

Must read

Ikea has rolled out a new discount program for thousands of employees in the UK. Education and healthcare workers are now eligible for a 6% discount at Ikea stores through a collaboration with Discounts for Teachers and Health Service Discounts.

Previously, members could enjoy a 4% discount on Ikea’s website, but the enhanced offer now extends to in-store purchases as well. To avail of the discount, shoppers need to log into the relevant app and scan their code at the checkout.

Jen Haslam, Chief Revenue Officer at Discounts for Teachers and Health Service Discounts, expressed pride in providing this Ikea discount to members. She emphasized the importance of recognizing the dedication of teachers and healthcare workers by offering tangible benefits.

Nikos Koskinas, Retail Partnerships Manager at Discounts for Teachers and Health Service Discounts, highlighted the appeal of Ikea to members and the significance of offering exclusive savings both online and in-store. The partnership aims to secure valuable deals that support education and healthcare professionals nationwide.

In other news, Ikea has introduced a new click and collect fee for online orders to be picked up in-store, starting in September 2025. A £2 fee applies unless customers are part of the Family loyalty scheme, which allows free use of the service.

Additionally, Ikea customers can collect orders from selected Tesco car parks, DPD, or locker pick-up points, with charges applicable for orders below a certain amount. For Ikea Family members, click and collect is free at Tesco or locker pick-up points for purchases of £100 or more, or £60 at DPD points, with fees ranging from £2 to £5.

An Ikea spokesperson emphasized the company’s commitment to transparent pricing and enhancing delivery and collection services. The introduction of a £2 click and collect fee for non-IKEA Family members aims to ensure financial sustainability, with IKEA Family offering free collection across all options.
