“Tragic Collision Claims Beloved Grandfather’s Life on M60”

The passing of a cherished grandfather in a tragic triple collision on the M60 has deeply affected his loved ones, who remember him for his youthful zest for life. David Shepherd, a 59-year-old motorcyclist, lost his life on October 12 in a crash involving two cars on the M60 clockwise carriageway near Salford, between junctions 15 and 16. Two drivers were apprehended by Greater Manchester Police on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the incident and have been released on bail pending further investigation.

In a heartfelt statement following his sudden death, Mr. Shepherd’s family paid tribute to him, describing him as a father, grandfather, brother, partner, and friend who lived life with enthusiasm and a cheerful demeanor. They expressed that he brightened the lives of those around him and will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed the initiation of an investigation into the incident and have called on the public to come forward with any relevant information. The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is seeking witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage of the crash to assist in the ongoing probe.

The collision, which occurred on October 23, resulted in significant traffic disruptions, causing long queues of vehicles on the road shortly after 6pm.
