“Ultimate Star Wars Auction to Feature Iconic Lightsabers and Props”

Must read

In July, a lightsaber featuring Luke Skywalker’s severed hand from the movie “The Empire Strikes Back” was sold for a record-breaking $3.75 million at an auction, marking the highest price ever paid for a prop used in a “Star Wars” film, as reported by the auction house.

Now, enthusiasts have the opportunity to acquire the lightsaber responsible for the iconic severing scene. A Darth Vader lightsaber wielded in the pivotal duel at Cloud City, where the famous line “I am your father” was uttered to Skywalker, is one of the key items in the upcoming Ultimate Star Wars Auction hosted by Heritage Auctions on November 12.

The Vader lightsaber, utilized in “Return of the Jedi” as well, is anticipated to command a minimum bid of $1 million. It is just one of over twenty lightsaber props that will be available for bidding, covering the “Star Wars” Episodes I to IX, in addition to props from other productions within the expansive universe created by George Lucas.

Among the items up for auction are the combat lightsabers wielded by Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker in “Revenge of the Sith,” each expected to fetch at least $10,000.

Additionally, an EE-3 carbine blaster used by Boba Fett in “The Empire Strikes Back” is estimated to exceed $100,000 in value. The auction will also feature a Yoda puppet hand operated by Frank Oz in the character’s original portrayal in “The Empire Strikes Back,” actor Anthony Daniels’ personally signed third-draft screenplay for the original 1977 “Star Wars,” and a TIE Fighter pilot helmet from “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”
